Club Excellence
The YMCA Westside Silver Fins (WSF) Swim Club recognizes that in addition
to swimming, academics in school are also a very important part of developing
our children into the leaders of tomorrow. WSF has identified a sponsor that
has donated money for a distinctive award* that recognizes both excellence
in the classroom and effort in the pool. WSF wants to award our swimmers
that go above and beyond in the classroom as well as in the pool. The award
will be given out to swimmers in ALL AGE GROUPS that meet the following
criteria throughout the school semester:
- Maintains a 90% Practice Attendance
- Earns Straight A's (4.O Average If Weighted) On Their Report Card
These awards will be given out following the school semesters (January & June).
To be eligible for the award, a swimmer will need to bring his/her school
report card to their swimming coach. The coach will check the report card
for Straight A's (4.0 average) and then will verify thru attendance sheets
that the swimmer has maintained at least 90% practice attendance. Once
both of these criterias have been verified, an award will be ordered for
that swimmer. Each swimmer is only eligible to receive this award one time.
*The award will be a Speedo backpack with the WSF Logo and the swimmer's name embroidered onto it.
